Im not sure how your chapter handles early alum status, but unless you were a fifth year senior or under extreme circumstances you didnt get early alum at my chapter. I know that sounds harsh, but most everyone struggled with money some and had many time commitments as well.
just like everyone else has said, you should talk to members of your chapter (standards board or the president).. i dont know why you would be afraid to discuss this with members of your chapter.
This is not something that is unique on your part either, we had girls struggle with financial and time situations as well. Some were able to work it out, bc it meant so much to them, but some couldn't just for various reasons.
I know that sometimes I didnt have as much time to put into the chapter as I would have liked, some semesters I had a lot of time-it changed as I got older.
All in all, Im not sure of your situation, or your chapters individual responsibilities for events, so it would be best if you talked with them on this.
