Thats cool you have a route that makes things easier. I hear ya on Springfield. Its the worst, but I deal with it. LOL Sometimes I take Gallows to Braddock to 123 to Clifton going south and it makes things less hectic and pretty scenic too. Not necessarily faster though.

Tracy,

I wouldnt say theres any place I wouldnt want to drive but I think Virginia is much better than California to drive. I've only driven in Northern Calif though so imagine anything south of San Fran is worse. Also, I think the road signs/road system in Pennsylvania is so screwed up. Thats probably second on my list of places not to drive.

GRRR I HATE the Springfield interchange! I absolutely hate how, when you're getting onto I95 from I495, you immediately have to get over 3 lanes because all 3 of the right lanes are EXIT ONLY. You have to do this while people are trying to move to the right so they can get their exit. I fear for my life there... I really do. And then once you're on without getting hit, you get the morons who slam on their brakes all the time, and if there's an accident, you'll be there forever. Why? Because everyone drives 2 mph so they can see it. I am usually there in Fairfax to see my boyfriend and/or my roommate who both live not too far off of 123, so I usually just try to take 123 out to I95, which lets me avoid that whole mess.
