so apparently my parents got a letter a few days ago from my very first best friend's mom.....they waited until the day after Christmas to tell me about it. this is the girl that i basically lived at her house from kindergarten to 3rd grade....sleep-overs every wknd. i moved away in 4th grade, she moved away in 6th...and we've kept in decent touch, but ya know. but i still consider her a very good friend. the letter, however, informed my parents that her dad has an inoperable brain tumor with only a few months/wks left.
he's going through his second
experimental surgery...........i'm just so in shock about this whole thing. i remember him as just being a very funny and very nice dad. she was such a daddy's girl, too, i can't imagine how she's dealing with all of this.
so, if you can PLEASE just keep him and his whole family in your thoughts and prayers, that would mean a lot. he has a daughter who is 24, and a son who is 22. he's been married for over 30 years. this is a wonderful man with a wonderful family......and even though i haven't seen her in many years, it's very difficult.
