Hey, not that dumb - not a popular award w/ the media. Silver Sluggers are given out to one player at each position, in each league - it's the hitting analog of a gold glove, and is given based on production in the triple-crown catagories and OPS (essentially).
Alas, that is the essence of this sort of 'trick' question - the players have to be the top hitter at their position, in their league. Thus, the answer is JASON GIAMBI, who of course puts of great numbers, but is still annually behind the great Carlos Delgado, the winner the last two years. Giambi's never won one - but Alomar and Palmer have, by out-slugging weak competition at their position.
