I think we should have just summarily executed him. He did what seemed appropriate for his culture and his position . . his real crime in a larger sense is that he lost.
These moral posturings that we use to punish the losers mock us all.
Let me put it another way. There is no way he can defend himself at trial and ever hope of winning, so whats the point?
