sweet, wonder what they did to raise the money? wonder if it would be effective in Greek life?

a lot of them raised money in their communities, gave up allowances over the 5 weeks of the toy drive, broke into piggy banks, etc.
the part that got me the most...many of the kids took their Christmas list and asked their parents if they could have the $$ that the family would have spent on this or that present and brought it into the school for the drive...to them, it meant much more than getting an xbox game, or a new dvd or cd or a gameboy if it could help someone else out
Friday morning we had the school assembly where all of the toys were set out for the marines to come and pick up...it was incredible..there must have been 300 boxes, 25 bicycles, 30 rocking horses...toys of all kinds...the Msgt. from the marine corps was aware of how much the kids had raised, but even this amount surprised him...he had to call back to the base for another transport truck...I think it took a total of 4 troop transports to carry back all of the toys...
