Hey Newbie!
Yep I finally went for the perm! I got a spiral perm on large rods in early June and I love it!!! Like I said before, my hair is naturally wavy so I was always right there in the frizzy middle between straight and curly. Now I have pretty, loose spirals that I can straighten if I want to go for a different look (but it takes about 45 minutes). Actually, I even think my hair is in better condition since the perm because I don't use much heat to style it anymore (just a little bit of drying with a diffuser). I did buy new products after I went curly but they were all pretty cheap. I got the green Dep gel, Salon Selectives Loosely Defined (this is the best stuff in the world!!!) and Suave Shine gel. Oh and there is a great website with a message board about curly hair I go to all the time - its naturallycurly.com
