Wife was a theatre major in college and I think we've seen all of the above either in NY or traveling companies.

Hard to beat Les Miz -- but I would add two more to the list:

Jekyl and Hyde (OK, I'm too lazy to see if I spelled that correctly) and, believe it or not, the newest Disney production Aida. Fantastic.

Oh, then there's Whistle Down the Wind, a Lloyd Webber show I saw in London, but really bombed in NY. Not too bad. Except for the Brits trying to do US Southern accents. Yikes!

Then there's Puck's Potion. Never heard of it? Well, it's a really neat show a couple of local HS and Middle school teachers wrote as a Master's project. (Much better than you would expect with 23 original songs and a 100 page script) It's a musical adaptation of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," complete with flying "urban mystics" (you can't say faries and be PC). Our son played Puck, the lead in the World Premiere at his high school.

Pardon the digression.

Now I need to get back to NY for another theatre fix.

OK, I'm finished.
