I agree. If someone says they're not interested, pestering them with a series of several more questions isn't going to change their mind. It will usually only infuriate them more.
I dealt with this a few weeks ago when I wanted to cancel my Discover card. I never use it. Most credit card companies have an automated system that lets you cancel cards. I was nice at first until the customer service lady at Discover asked me several times if there's anything she could do to change my mind and then would say, "Ok, we'll give you $30 cash back. You don't like that? How about 0% APR?" I just didn't want the card. A process that should've taken a minute took 10 minutes and ended with me completely aggravated.
