It's true, you really have to be careful about expansion. Trying to get too big too quickly can get you in trouble, stretching resources and people in impossible situations.
Personally, as long as my chapter and the fraternity as a whole are strong, that's the important thing to me. If you're a member of ABC, I don't think the goal should be catching XYZ, but making ABC strong.
It will be an interesting trend to see how well some of these chapters fare with the emphasis on agressive expansion.
