I only purchased one bottle of the ProActiv and from then on, I used Acne Free. It does a good scrub for me. Did you shake the bottle good?
At any rate, I combine ProActiv with Neutrogena Daily Scrub that has little microbeads as well. I did not want to have my face become immune to the product.
Also check out Ebay. Acne Free does not have the mask like ProActiv so I bid on some mask and won it for $2.
