1.
Totonnos pizzeria, in the Coney Island neighborhood of Brooklyn, is a place where we would get pizza when I was growing up. It has been there since 1924. Best pizza, and the absolute worst table service anywhere.
2.
Patsy's on 1st Avenue, in East Harlem. This small Italian enclave has produced some of the most notorious mobsters in American history. The pizza at the original Patsy's, open since 1932, is the best of a group that are Patsy's + Patsy clones.
3.
Grimaldi's, in Fulton Ferry, Brooklyn, and in Hoboken, is a Patsy's clone that many argue is better than Patsy's.
4.
John's of Bleeker Street, open since 1929, is the best in Greenwich Village. Not as good as the above three, but far better than the best pizza in any other city (except Philly and New Haven.)
5.
Two Boots is named after the maps of Italy and Louisiana. This New York Cajun pizza chain is great for something different.
