Baseball star Barry Bonds told a federal grand jury that he used a clear substance and a cream given to him by a trainer who was indicted in a steroid-distribution ring but denied knowing they were steroids, according to a report published Friday

Ok, Barry needs to quit playin with the grand jury. Who does he think believes that crap!! If Jason Giambi testified that he ended up using steroids and female hormones after asking Barry's trainer to give him what Barry uses to get stronger, why would Barry sit up there and say he didn't know they were steroids?? I mean, its YOUR TRAINER, for pete's sake! Does he expect us to believe a BALL PLAYER WHO RELIES ON HIS BODY TO MAKE MILLIONS just took whatever this guy gave him without asking what it was? Its just BS and CYA!!
The unfair thing about it is that Giambi, Bonds, Sosa, McGuire and their like are the guys that got the signing bonuses, MVP awards and home run accolades. The others who try to excel without drugs don't get the same perks. So where's the incentive for them to stay clean? The player's union would not allow drug testing for steroids, so in my opinion, this entire issue falls on the union and the owners. No one in interested in "cleaning up" the league, because their is money to be made whey someone hits 70 home runs in a season.
