The citysearches are great for this topic . Check out http://bayarea.citysearch.com/ for info on the Bay Area, CA.

If anyone's ever gonna go visit San Francisco/the Bay Area, feel free to e-mail me or start a new topic...I'll gladly give you tips on what to do, where to go, etc.!

But anyway, you can do almost everything in SF.

If sports are your thing, there are tons of great pathways for hiking, nice surfing conditions (most of the time haha), nice golf courses, great lakes, and the greatest ballpark of all (Pac Bell Park - yeah, I'm biased ).

There are tons of ritzy, different, or just plain interesting shops and malls here. There's also Chinatown and Japantown...plus it's amazing to go to Haight-Ashbury and still feel like you're in the the Era of the Hippies or something.

Great restaurants, nightlife, here, too.

And of course you can't miss Bay-To-Breakers, a 10-mile race where many of the participants go decked out in zany costumes. Nor can you miss all the Gay Pride parades here. Or the beautiful fireworks that go off each New Year's or Fourth of July in Chrissy Fields. Plus of course the gorgeous views from Pier 39 (Fisherman's Wharf).

Don't forget to check out the cable cars, Lombard Street (supposedly the windiest, curviest street in the world), and the Victorian houses (you know, the houses always featured in the postcards)!

And yes, it's San Francisco - so things here are sometimes very eccentric or wacky...but I love living here!!!! Beautiful town with sooo much to do...plus it's interesting to have neighbors from all walks of life, with all different religions, ethnicities, and sexual orientations.
