Yeah, I normally hate science fiction, too! But I'm excited to see it, b/c it kind of has to do with Sociology (IMO), in that the kid is a robot - programmed to have feelings, etc., instead of the regular person, who is "real" and is manifested from his parents. (So it would be interesting to see what the boy's like from a sociological standpoint.)
Gammazetagrl - I was reading Rolling STone the other day - and the review for A.I. is not THAT great - says it's pretty brilliant - one-of-a-kind definitely (even kind of "creepy" hahaaa), but that the directors (Spielberg, and the late Kubrick) were just SO different (Spielberg is usually more interested in humans moving forward, succeeding, while Kubrick is interested in the dark side of human life), that A.I. is just kind of confusing.
But I still want to see it, since it's so different from anything else ever made!!!
