I have gotten contacted from valid companies from Careerbuilder (I have my second interview with one of them next week) but ALWAYS make sure you are familiar with the company. For example, I want to go into non-profit fundraising coordination, so I type in fundrasing coordinator... I make sure I only apply to companies like American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association, etc...
And like I've said before, be careful about certain companies. It's funny someone mentioned Primerica, I actually went to that interview... I was thirty minutes late and they still wanted me... should've been a sign! And like was mentioned, be wary of anything that says "Marketing." Those groups are NOT looking for marketing professionals... they're looking for entry level and high school grads desperate for a job. It's best to go to the AMA website for those.
Unfortunately for me, I live near Charlotte, and that's the main source of job posting for Charlotte, since all job postings at Charlotte Observer are put on Careerbuilder.com.
