AlphaFrog-
I worked for Adecco for 7 years (in the office placing people to work) and they are a pretty good company. I know all staffing companies try and say they are better than another one but it all has to do with the jobs they have available and the longevity of those positions. Adecco does have a large amount of National Contracts with some very big companies but they are "only" a general staffing company. The majority of the work from any general staffing company is going to be clerical, customer service and general labor. If that is what you are looking for then I would say go for it. Keep in mind that they will have a do a ton of testing so give yourself a lot of time.
Depending on what you want to do, you may want to try and get in with a perm placement specialist or a "headhunter". They are going to have more of the high level positions and they will usually be direct hire to the company.
As far as the websites...There are a ton out there and they are all pretty good. Monster is by far the largest but that can be good and bad. hotjobs.com is good, careerbuilder.com is good, and dice is excellent if you are in the technical field. I would also suggest the good ole standby of the local newspapers and any local job posting networks (contact your camber of commerce if you need to find these out)
Sorry that was a lot of information....
