I can speak to W&L. W&L's professors mostly fall into the liberal stereotype, particularly the younger crew. However, there are some departments that are probably a bit more conservative than you'd find at other colleges (notably history, one of my majors). I've never seen a study of W&L's faculty, but I have watched faculty reactions when I'm running a Young Democrats booth, and in general I think they're mostly liberals.

That actually doesn't surprise me...but then again, my undergrad faculty was filled with a bunch of flaming liberals; here in grad school they either make Ralph Nader look like Ralph Reed, or they're not American so it doesn't count as much.
