Yes the Canadian & US militaries do share alot... at a tactical level:
Joint Training and Exchanges
Joint Exercises
Weapon Systems (LAV 25 & M16A3 are Canadian designs)

and at a strategic level:
NATO (next commander will be the former Chief of Defense from Canada)
NORAD... just to name the two biggies
