My understanding of AS is that people with the disorder are "weird" or awkward (they say that a lot of people we call "geeks" have AS). Some really want to make friends, but are unable to, because they feel that the entire world is against them. Most people with AS have average to above average intelligence, but also have "selective learning", meaning that they will concentrate on something that really interests them, but would put off anything that they find boring (though that happens to non-AS people too). They can also be very obsessed with topics of their interest, and may go on and on about it, not knowing that the other person or people aren't as interested in it as they are. Having AS doesn't necessarily mean that they're going to go out to hurt people. Just thought that I'd say that.
