I was 100% sure I didn't want to apply to any Maryland schools because I didn't want to be with everyone from my high school.
West Virginia was my first choice, but I also looked at..
-East Carolina (i LOVED it and was torn between that and WVU for awhile)
-Clemson (ended up being too far- 10 hours from my house)
-UNC Charlotte (heard it was a big suitcase school)
-Virginia tech (loved the campus but felt sick on the tour day and that kinda affected my opinion)
Funny thing I remember about Clemson though.. my parents and I were eating lunch in this little cafe waiting for the tour to start and another family was next to us. We started talking and the dad asked where we were from. We told them Maryland and in this great southern accent, his wife was like, "Well welcome to the South!!".. they were from Tennessee.
I thought it was so cute.
