My fiance doesn't really differentiate between Hispanic and Latino and I will refer to my daughter as Hispanic or Latina (as well as American)
I do have to say that I was kind of insulted that on one of the forms at the hospital, they had her race listed as white without even asking...I realize they did that because I'm white, but it's still presumtious as she could be (and is) mestizo.
