hmmm.....I have nothing to brag about here...
Daughter #1 - HS dropout (got mad at school because they had the *nerve* -herwordsnotmine- to ask her to make up 2 credits because she missed so much school because of her Chron's Disease. Finally I forced her to get GED (scored among highest in the state). Currently unemployed and sponging here.
STRIKE One....sigh
Daughter #2 - Graduated with average grades. CONSISTENTLY tested in top 1/2 of 1% of all HS students in Iowa. Entered Army, hated it, got out. Married day before HS graduation. Accepted to the Nursing school even with mediocre grades based on exceptionally high test scores. Expecting in April. Happily married, just purchased new home.
Ball!
Son #1 - Freshman. Managed to get himself kicked out of school last Thursday for poor attitude and failure to do any school work at all. Joy. In subsequent days since "request to leave" (district says they didn't suspend him and now wants him back after we started asking serious questions about open enrollment which would cost the district money), we have discovered quite a history of bullying and harrassment directed toward him that he didn't want to tell us was happening. Working feverishly to get him placed elsewhere.
Foul! Strike Two!
Son # 2 - 6th grader. Organizationally challenged, but does good work. Very popular with classmates (a girl asked *him* to the middle school dance which he not so politely declined-still gotta teach him boy/girl manners). Exceptionally good tackle, just discovered GREAT noseguard

(he has the size and speed!), plays string bass, electric bass, trombone, baritone and sings in regional honor choir. FABULOUS Starcraft geek.
It's a Hit for a single...could be stretched into a double...
Son #3 - 5th grader. Reading challenged but works his butt off and is making great progress. EXTREMELY auditory learner. Remembers everything he hears. Gets better than average grades, concientious, diligent, BEAUTIFUL penmenship. Incredible visual spatial skills and knowledges of construction fundamentals. AVID and skilled rock climber capable of lifting his own body weight with only upper arm strength.
And it is a Hit for a homerun!!
Don't you just hate when they get old enough to figure out how to get themselves into trouble. If I survive Son #1 and get him out of HS, I will be taking a great vacation!
