Yesterday at work, I gave rides to the residents who were registered to vote. I was up and out at 5 am to get them there and in line so that they could vote b/c in Saginaw the lines were 3-4 hours long at some precints in the city.
Hubby and I went to vote after we picked up our son from school. We have been talking to him about voting and he's been watching (and singing) the commericals about voting and democracy on Nickelodeon so we decided to take him into the booth and watch us vote. We live in the suburb part of Saginaw and we were in and out in like 5 minutes. This was mainly because 20-30% of the residents there had voted by absentee ballot in anticipation of the lines.
Finally, Hubby and I baby sat his sister's kids while she went to vote. Her precint was the local high school and it was one of the places where the line was 4 hours long. She left at 5 and didn't come back until it was almost 10. Let me tell you: it wasn't a good time. See the HC thread.
