oldest of the old
I pledged TKE fall '54. Pres. of pledge class of 27; we initiated
26 of them. Among was 1 WWII vet, 2 Korean vets, one 6'7"
marine, etc. at the then Kansas State Teachers College, now
Emporia State University. Worked 100 hrs a month in art dept &
had auto parts job for 10 hrs a week. drank too much but paid
all my bills. won jitterbug contests, loved the Tri Sigs and Alpha
Sigs...I'd give anything to be able to move back into the house,
we housed 55 in our "mansion." I was all of 18 then...
