OTW, I am so very afraid of anti-Japanese sentiment because of this movie... every time some unthinking teacher assigns my daughters' classes a novel such as Under the Blood Red Sun or has them watch a WWII video, it seems that my daughters get, at the least, dirty looks or sometimes a comment from some trashy kid.
Oddly enough, we've gotten no grief from veterans of WWII; they seem to feel like the Japanese soldiers were mostly scared boys following orders just like they were.
