As I said, I live pretty close to the country AND a park, so it's an odd day when Bambi doesn't come cruising the neighborhood. I've actually been late to work because of 11 deer in the road that wouldn't move. They also ate over 200 tulip bulbs I had planted, not exactly winning my heart.
I've also had a deer in my driveway when I pulled in, and hit the garage door opener before I saw the deer. Yep, Bambi went INTO the garage! I had a horrible time getting it out before I pulled in!
As for groundhogs, I was on first name basis with Animal Control for a while, as I was catching at least one a day in their "humane" trap (the trap is humane, but then they euthanize it). If you get a groundhog problem, the best way to get rid of them is to get some animal droppings, and put it where they hang out. They're very clean animals, and
hate the scat! Since my brother has horses, that was pretty easy!
