OleMissGlitter you were probably looking at the chapters on the NYC campus, Winniethepooh7 is talking about the pleasantville campus.

I think the nationals would definitely benefit at Pace if the local chapters went national. After looking at the websites it seems that one chapter was claiming to be the largest chapter on campus with 31 people, if that is the case one or two good years of recruitment on the side of current national could change this (I know have seen it on my campus). Plus I think it would help you overcome some of the problems that may have caused your chapter to be smaller. Everyones dues would be on par and girls would be forced to really visit all the chapters, giving your chapter more of chance. And not to bash locals, but unless your campus is different, locals in NY have a bad reputation for hazing. One bad incident could damage PR for all the Greeks on campus.

It seems like this is something Pace really wants. Their website says local chapters are no longer welcome to charter on campus and if a local loses its charter they cannot come back. If the locals need any convincing I think that would be it right there. Plus if the current national chapters offer their NPC expertise in helping implement this policy you could develop a much better relationship with the student life office and administration.

You should probably find out other campus where the locals were forced to go national (John Carroll is the only one I can think of but I am sure all the knowledgeable GC'ers can think of others) and have your Greek Advisors get in touch with their Greek Advisor's and see how they implemented the change.
