I know that some chapters organize their pledge classes into "lines".

As my chapter, and most of the ones I work with don't do this, I'm fairly ignorate of how it works. I'm more familiar with pledge classes, big/little brother programs, etc.

Can those who ARE familiar with lines care to explain how they work? This would be useful for me as I do presentations on pledge programs and would like to accurately cover this as well.
