Go to lambdachi.org.
Go to ELCs.
At Present, there are 11 ELCs and 3 Regional Coordinators.
While it says 3 Regional Coorinators, there are more Regions than that.
What is the eye popper is looking at the map and see how far afield LXA is spread.
Now, Think of States where there are a lot of Chapters, and where there are damn few.
Basically the butt or windsheild time is time that is taken up by miles of looking at the sceanery. Wyom., Id., Nev for 3 examples and a lot of the Canadian Chapters.
States like Cal. Penn. Fl. where there are a lot of Chapters but still drive time. Why do you think that the ELCs stay at the Chapter houses? Called $$$$$$$$$!
Could we use more ELCs, of course but at what cost to All of us?
Oh easy, higher dues is the main answer.

OOPS, not a great idea there is it?
There was an amendment proposed in General Assembly that held to a Minimum of 20 Active members and if not, then the Active Chapter had to make up the difference. Needless to say, it was not well accepted at all.
Granted, it cost the same for an ELC to vist a 10/15/20/60 man chapter as it does for any and all, it is still a cost. But, The Back Bone of the Fraternity is the smaller Chapters who are still trying to grow and some times problems are out of their control.
