R. Kelly Says Being In Love Might Make It Okay For A Man And An Underage Girl
R. Kelly was on ABC's "Primetime Live" last night, and interviewer Jay Schadler really put him on the spot. He asked Kelly, quote, "Do you think that it is immoral for an older man to have sex with an underage girl?" And Kelly's reply was, quote, "If they're in love. I really can't be the judge of that." In addition to the child pornography charges he's currently fighting for allegedly taping himself having sex with a 14-year-old girl, Kelly has been sued numerous times by underage girls who claim he took advantage of them. On top of that, he married the late Aaliyah in 1994, when she was only 15. The union was quickly annulled. Kelly also said, quote, "I don't have a Bible out that people should read, you know? And I don't have an 'S' across my chest. . . But I am not no demon, I'm no devil, I'm no criminal, I'm no guy here that's trying to hurt people, rob, steal. . . I've been through that. I had my chance to do that, and I turned that away. I do my music. And I'm going to do my music until The Man comes to get me."
