I started wearing makeup and plucking my brows at around 13. and not just lip gloss....but fullblown makeup (blush, foundation, eyeshadow, lipstick, etc etc). but only on weekends bc i went to an all girls school and there was no need for the makeup.
what sucked though was when we would go to mexico for vacation the whole summer, my mom would not let me out of the house w/o makeup on!
(i have alot of family there and we have a house there so its like living there for 3 mos out of the year)
According to her, i had to always look presentable to society.
but i will say that i learned to put it on properly and not cake it on.
now that I am older and work in a bank i save the full blown makeup for special occasions and only wear powder and blush for work.
the only negative thing about wearing makeup at such a young age is that my brows became so thin and eventually stopped growing bc of overplucking. and just about a year ago i finally had cosmetic tattooing so now i dont have to "put on" my eyebrows every day.
