As for how much I pay for Janes... well if I didn't have them supplied to me at work I would have to pay around $1500(USD) for each of the books (or in this case CDs) that I would need - but again luckily I get them at work so it's not a big deal because the full library costs around $40000 to $45000(USD) a year to keep up to date... only problem is of course I can take them out of the office for personal use so any reading or research has to be done there
As for knowing anything about the region... politics shouldn't be in the picture so to speak when looking at video or pictures for analysis - see post analysis it is up to others to place it in a regional context. As for the allegations made by the IDF in this specific case of the released video... um yes they would be wrong - however that does not remove the possibility that there allegations are true on the whole - in that militants have used UN vehicles of vehicles made to appear part of the UN in their transfer of material, munitions or men.
