The other way to go about it is to look at what hospital you'd prefer to be admitted to if you needed something inpatient. You can get a list of doctors credentialled there (internists/ family practice... whatever your preference). Some hospital referral websites will list training credentials (med school/ residency dates) or link you to the website for that physician. I usually then do a drive-by... if the office is big and beautiful but the receptionist is rude, I go elsewhere. Best way to find out if a doctor is going to be a total prick is to ask a nurse at the hospital. We can tell you who's nasty and who's nice
