Seventeen thousand lousy dollars doesn't even begin to pay for what that poor man has been through! She's lied about being raped once - he was possibly raped many times while in prison - to say nothing about destroying his chances at a decent job (ex-cons have very few good job opportunities) or even a decent place in society.
Let's not forget how much it cost John Q. Public to prosecute, defend, and, after conviction, feed, house, and clothe the prisoner.
Absolutely, she should be prosecuted in some form!!
