As an official Old Person (i.e. someone who's been out of college for more than a year
), I can say that I still consider Thursday night to be the first day of the weekend. I remember reading about how college students were going out on Thursdays in a magazine back when I was in high school, so it's not really a new thing, at least not around here. My older sister (who graduated college in the early 90's) says she used to do it, too. Personally, I like the idea of an extended weekend--I think the
week should be 2 days long instead of the weekend.
