She had been battling cancer for a while, but this indictment issue with Bill was making it even worse.

Didn't his mother pass away recently? Bill asked that they postpond the indictment until she passed (it was really really close as I understand it) and the Feds said NO.
Cambell surrounded himself with some pretty questionable people and you knwo what they say....where there is smoke their is fire. The "funniest" thing to me was the press conference Bill did. In a church. In the pulpit. With a "choir" standing behind him yelling "Amen". Now anyone who know's Atlanta knows that Bill Campbell was notable during his race because he was a "different kind of Black politician" for Atlanta. He did not come from the traditional black groups of Atlanta (a la Maynard Jackson and Andy Young), he did not live in the SWATS (southwest Atlanta--Black area) he lived in Lake Claire--very white yuppie, but first thing he does is goes to church and starts quoting scripture.
Truth be told though, I wonder how much they really have on him. They have been trying to "get" him for years and are just indicting him. The proof will be the strength of the testimonies--of people that are trying to cut a deal and have al ready been convicted. Time will tell.
