Not sure how computer savvy your are James, but download
Hijack This . It will scan your computer's registry and display all running programs, including those linked to your browser (it will tell you who/what it is). You can select what you need to remove.
**NOTE*** It will also list any programs that your computer normally uses such as IE, etc., so make sure not to delete any important files/programs that your comp normally uses.
This is the ONLY thing I have found to thoroughly remove that mess, especially that annoying begin2search toolbar (which Ad-Ware and Spy-ware doesn't remove).
