Sorry this post is so long but I wanted to give you the full update, now that I am consious again after recruitment! Here is the "real" update from my Co-Chapter Adviser and Former CND, The AMAZING Lori Curci-Reed!
Greetings Sisters!!
Just a quick note since I have so many calls and emails...
First of all...a HUGE thank you to each and everyone of you for your love and support this past year!!! We entered the Redevelopment Recruitment process in January...and in nine months the world of Lambda Beta has been turned a bit upside-down and then made right again. It has been an amazing ride...that is sure to continue to be thrilling! Everything I am about to report to you is due to the extraordinary hard work and dedication of both the collegiate women and the alumnae in the area that have dedicated time, energy, and monetary donations to the process. It has been a true show of sisterhood and charity on so many levels!
As you know, this past weekend was Formal Recruitment at CSULB. Approximately 250 women started the process of recruitment and spent time quickly getting to know 7 houses on the campus. In addition to a wonderful group of women in the chapter, we were very fortunate to have recruitment assistance from the lovely ladies of Chi Psi chapter who sent 20 fabulous sisters to help on the first two days of recruitment. Total on the campus is 60...and we had approximately 40 on the floor the first two days. Very cool....
That being said...recruitment completed with Bid Day today. Following are the results as we know them at the moment... (is everyone sitting down?)
Recruitment was amazing...Quota was 30...we extended bids to 25 women...and had 24 accepted!!! This is beyond incredible...we are all in a bit of shock! It is official...this chapter is now 5 times larger than it was only 9 months ago!!!!! SUCCESS!!!!
Four houses extended quota...and two other houses extended 26 bids...but we don't know what the accepts and regrets were for any of the other houses...all we know is our own is 24 accepts!!! We will continue to focus on COR/COB in the weeks/months ahead...but I also hope the chapter has a moment to rest in their laurels just a bit...celebrations!!!
Thank you all for your ongoing assistance in the process! It is nice to see something work! Lambda Beta is celebrating...their light is shining brightly tonight!!!!
