At Ohio State the general attitude toward the Greek system is pretty much one of indifference. It's so disappointing that OSU is the second largest university in the country with about 50,000 students yet has a measley Greek population of about 2,500. That's about 5%. Last year we had approx. 600 girls sign up for formal recruitment and only about 300 actually went through.
It def doesn't help that we have deferred recruitment and a cap on the total number of members that can be in a chapter of 100 people.
I guess at such a large institution with so many organizations and activities the Greek system just doesn't get the attention that it deserves so many students just don't care about fraternities and sororities. Such a shame.
