I really don't think that his performance went according to plan. I think that Syleena was a backup plan. (And what was up with her Xena: Warrior Princess look?
) Anyway, I am holding fast to the belief that Lauryn was supposed to perform the hook for "All Falls Down." It is a sample from her song and I think that's what he had planned. Something must have gone wrong and he had to grab Syleena at the last minute. Chaka could have really blew "Through the Wire" up for Kanye, but her voice was tripping last night. Either that or she was "tripping," if you know what I mean.
I was trying to figure out how he could match or beat the BET Awards performance of "Jesus Walks," but he didn't pull it off. I think that it would have gone over smoother if the audience would have been contained. They needed some Mardi Gras barricades down there.
