I actually have a funny story about the show:
When I was 6, I was obsessed with it. When it got taken off the air, I got so upset, I wrote a letter to my local NBC affiliate begging them to put the show back on. They wrote me a letter saying they had passed it on to NBC. A month or so later, I got an autographed headshot of Soleil Moon Freye in the mail and an invitation to join the Punky Fan club (for only $10). They said the show was coming back in syndication in 1987, but my market never picked it up
