Nope... you don't
have to receive under both species your first time or any time. Different parishes do different things. Some offer both species while others offer just one.
Best wishes as you consider RCIA! I went through it 10 years ago. The classes themselves were a waste of time (not a good parish) but becoming Catholic was/is wonderful!
