Well, in early 2000 he was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to sell.
He and his roommate got busted in a sting by the cops and where they found weed, bags, scales, a shotgun and $23,000 in cash in his house.
Just before that, he had been awarded a place on the 2000 Olympic team. Though, when the arrest warrant came out, he turned himself in and resigned his place from the team. I believe he ended up pleading "no contest" to the charges.
I saw him a year later at an archery tournament we were competing at - his appearance was interesting to us as we thought he had quit altogether. From what I understand, he's now got his life back on track and is again an athlete-in-residence at the ARCO Olympic Training Center here in San Diego (Chula Vista to be specific). I really hope he's gotten himself together and can bust out a nice come back. He's a super talented archer!
