looking back on my first semester of college life here at the University of Iowa, i know i definitell made the right choice. I always knew i'd head to a Big 10 school, which one though, was up for grabs. My mom went to Purdue, Dad Northwestern and my sister to the University of Illinois. There's just something about IOWA though. The campus, i love it. It's set in the "rolling hills of Iowa" (right out of the brochure

) and my campus overlooks the Iowa River. It really is a pretty campus compared to a lot of the Big 10 schools, ahem u of illinois

. the people here are awesome. seriously, when i visited, everyone was friendly and helpful, and thats been my expereince for the past semester and a half. there's soo many organizations to get involved in here - over 350 student groups!!! i love getting involved, so that was awesome. being able to walk to all of my classes is great too, sure sometimes its a hike, but managable. of course there's downsides, i'm a big city girl (chicago) and Iowa City is hardly he big city

and the weather here sucks during the winter, but i'm from chicago, so i'm used to it. plus, the nightlife here rocks. over 15 bars on campus with nightly drink specials

and ou only need to be 18/19 to get in - doesn't get much better than IOWA! Go Hawks!
