Indeed it does.
In this case the term "Carpetbagger" comes to mind -- but not attached to Keyes himself. As I understand it, the Republican Party basically recruited him and strongly urged him to run, even after he had made speechs against it pretaining to other races (meaning election contests).
Clearly, the GOP had to come up with a "name."
In a way, it appears they're making him a sacraficial lamb. If he loses by huge margins, it certainly won't help his future political ambitions.
