I think your "squirrely little brain" (LOL) is on to something and although it may be a stretch, I think that could be true. Years ago, I read this book called Hard Living on Clay Street for one of my college classes, and the subjects, who were Caucasian, referred to the difference between "good colored"

and insert n-words.
