Back when dinosaurs roamed the earth and I was an undergrad (well... I'm not THAT old!

) fraternity parties at OU were mostly open to anyone, members or not, and the popularity of parties was gauged by the number of kegs bought for the party. A small mixer between fraternities and sororities was maybe a 1 or 2-kegger, a members-only (and their invited guests) party ranged anywhere from 3-6 kegs, and for wide open parties the minimum considered was at least 8 kegs; some really big parties like Sigma Chi Derby Days the beer distributor parked a truck and tapped them on the spot!
Our house wasn't awash with cash, so our usual was cheap kegs of whatever was available. Budweiser, Coors, the usual swill.
