HAAAAAAAAAYLE NAW!! If I had to work a second job, I wouldn't be teaching. I also know teachers that work second jobs and it's a shame. It's bad enough that I have to go to class after work, but that's only two days out of the week and I can miss when I want to. I can't even IMAGINE leaving that jungle and going to another JOB!

I have this discussion with fellow teachers often and it kills me that teachers aren't making enough money to make ends meet. I am doing OK because I am not married, nor do I have kids. But I know people raising kids alone on their salary and are struggling. That's why I am pursuing a Master's degree to boost the pay. But I don't plan on staying in the field past this school year (or perhaps the next depending on how things go). I know that I haven't been in school three years short of forever to make this measly salary. It is better than nothing, but it's not that far from nothing either.
