Sadly according to some articles I read the biggest threat to a pregnant woman is not miscarriage but her own husband/boyfriend. I don't know where they got there stats from but this isn't as random as we may think. The reality of a child scares these men into acts that most people know are reprehensible. Getting a divorce/separating isn't going to make it go away (still have child support)-they are afraid because they are no longer the center of their woman's universe and they can't share the limelight. Most times no one knew they were capable of such acts-we are not talking regular abusers-these are "regular" guys that snap when a child is on the way.
He lied (about graduating UG) and then told more lies (about applying/being accepted into medical school) and apparently the victim found out the day before she was killed which was two weeks before they were to go to their new location. I don't know why he thought killing her would keep the secret from getting out but who understands his mind process. His family is sticking behind him-I honestly don't know if I would stand behind a family member who did this.
As for faking the UG graduation-I know lots of people who tried to perp and march with the class because their family didn't know they didn't actually finish their credits. Some went back and completed the last class (or semester) others didn't and won't be found out until a transcript is needed (howmany jobs ask for transcripts that show you actually graduated?). However, my mother didn't play that - as soon as I marched off that stage she wanted to see the actual degree she had invested so much $$ into.
